Anna Tartari trained at the Cremona International Violin Making School under the tutelage of masters V. Bissolotti and G. Scolari, obtaining her diploma in 1985.  At her workshop in Cremona, Anna makes violins and violas inspired by the classic Cremonese school of violin making.  Anna’s instruments have been recognized internationally.  In 2005, Anna was awarded a Bronze Medal for her viola at the 5th International Violinmaking Competition in Mittenwald, Germany.  A year earlier, she received 5th place for her violin at the International Violinmaking Competition, “Etienne Vatelot” in Paris, France.  In 2002, Anna’s violin was a finalist at the 15th International Violinmaking Competition of the Violin Society of America in Fort Mitchell, Kentucky.
