Nicholas Gerald

Restorer

Nick Gerald first became interested in the field of instrument restoration while completing his Bachelor of Music degree in Cello Performance.  After obtaining his music degree and working as a freelance cellist, his continued interest in the structure and physics of instruments compelled him to enroll in the Violin Making and Repair program at the North Bennet Street School.  There he trained to build and conserve stringed instruments, while also developing a deeper understanding of history’s greatest makers and their work.  Nick is proud to be part of the Rare Violins of New York workshop, which provides the highest standards of craftsmanship and service.
