"Kortschak" del Gesù on stage again with Sirena Huang

Sirena Huang

Certain instruments do more than survive the passage of time — they give it a voice.
Crafted in 1739 by celebrated Italian luthier Bartolomeo Giuseppe Guarneri — world-renowned as “del Gesù” — the violin known as the “Kortschak” carries a rich legacy of craftsmanship and performance. Named for one of its distinguished stewards, Hugo Kortschak — a violinist with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and an influential figure in the rise of American chamber music — the instrument reflects generations of artistry and excellence.

Now, through the support of Dr. Ryuji Ueno and the Rare Violins In Consortium program, this remarkable instrument begins a new chapter in the hands of violinist Sirena Huang.

Acclaimed for her expressive depth and technical precision, Huang brings renewed vitality and a fresh perspective to this historic Guarneri del Gesù.

In her hands, the “Kortschak” violin speaks with fresh brilliance and is sure to inspire new audiences around the world.
