
Rare Violins of New York and the Ryuji Ueno Foundation, Inc. are pleased to place the 1690 Stradivari violin known as “Theodor” with American violinist Keila Wakao through In Consortium.
Born in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts in 2006, Keila Wakao began violin study at age three and has since developed a notable international profile. She is a laureate of the Menuhin International Violin Competition and the Stulberg International String Competition, and her awards and fellowships include the Aoyama Music Foundation Award and the Salon de Virtuosi Career Grant. Keila has appeared as soloist with major orchestras and at prominent venues in the United States, Europe and Asia, and her playing is distinguished by a rare combination of technical assurance and expressive clarity.
