David Brewer

Sales Director

David Brewer comes from a talented, musical family with a strong background in the performing arts. He is a native of Temple, Texas and a graduate of UNT where he earned a bachelor’s degree in violin performance under the instruction of Robert Davidovici, Phil Lewis and Igor Borodin.   After graduating, David held various concertmaster positions and was an active chamber and studio musician.

In 1996 David began to focus on pursuing a solo career but suffered a setback when he was injured in a severe automobile accident that permanently damaged his left hand and shoulder.  In 1998 he was offered a job as sales manager for a local violin dealer.  In 2000 he moved to Albuquerque where he was Sales Manager of Robertson & Sons Violin Shop for the next 11 years.

In March 2011 David and his wife Erin established David Brewer Fine Violins, LLC. While working with musicians and collectors around the world David has developed a reputation for offering impeccable service and careful advice. His client relationships are based on integrity, trust, and genuine friendship.  Through his expertise he has earned the respect of a large clientele who have chosen him as custodian of some of the finest collections of rare instruments and bows.  David joined the Rare Violins of New York team as director in 2021.
